Organizing, Prioritizing, and Reacting To Developmental Needs

For the sake of argument, let us reset developmental concepts and use tools and templates as pathfinders. East Timor has not found its footing in a decade of trying following twenty four years of repressive occupation by Indonesia. Going to Dr.Rod Nixon for an analysis, it may be possible to take a snapshot of tools and templates worth considering. Despite a major shift in composition of religious organizations in East Timor, a US Department of State report, having described instances of harassment and violence, sees it possible to make the statement: “There were minimal reports of abuses or discrimination raised on religious belief or discrimination based on religious belief or practice”. The USA article describes a condition all too familiar in Africa. This is another template and set of tools. The UN peacekeepers in East Timor will be able to detail both. Now it is possible to detail diagnostics in terms of tools, templates, and results. Dr. Nixon cites Mr. Lewellen (1992:47):2 in describing a Mesopotamian agrarian society which voluntarily made a transition from a structure of kinship networks to a stratification based on “the ability to gather agricultural surpluses and call forth the labor necessary to create … irrigation projects and … architecture.” © Journal of Contemporary Asia 2006

In opposition, Mr. Nixon cites a “common pattern” (Mann 1986:73) of state development, among groups of people who were “caged” into pursuing this path (Mann 1986:42). There is now a latitude to select three templates, each with its set of tools. A quick reading of the Bibliography will suggest several more.

Street Level Reality Checks

A major point of the Triad is the attempt to establish a continuity from ground level to one as abstract as can be imagined.  Termite mounds in Namibia are one example, and Triad Phase III working drafts give every indication that few if any will be forgotten.  To extract:

• Following a gang war involving knives in Manhattan, an angel appeared to find out what was what.  One surviving member of one gang asked where she came from.  She told him that she was an angel and explained that angels, living on the edge of Cartesian reality and the domain of the soul, are in fact very delicate.  It is for this reason they are rarely seen. Concept

The Next Billion encourages recognizing value of idea communications in self improvement. The MIT Collaboratorium is a promising planning and coordination tool for strategic development in this area. Werner Hoffmann has an organization template ideal for the challenging environment of this sector.

Continuing this line of reasoning, Daniel Henninger points out that: “Web 2.0 has become a metaphor. The communications technologies are important — cell phones, social networks, messaging protocols — but its more interesting attribute is that it enhances the role, and power, of individuals. In the 2008 campaign, Mr. Obama brought onboard tech-savvy aides to build out his Web presence, among them Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes. Essentially what they did was to create innumerable electronic gateways for Obama supporters and volunteers. For example, they assembled 35,000 affinity groups linked by geography or cultural interests.” Copyright ©2009 Dow Jones & Company, Inc.  There is every reason to extend this concept to Web 4.0 and IPv7 working into a mirror image network in the very remote.

Application

A comment made by a Georgian to the effect that if nations are to be arranged in categories of spheres of influence the world is regressing to the 19th century must be taken seriously.  He finds this unacceptable, but realizes that equal sovereign rights, although existing in theory, are not a reality.  A subsequent speech in which Vice President Biden affirmed that resetting  US Soviet relations would not be at the expense of Georgia seems to be a tacit admission that such categories are functioning.

The Triad has experienced unexpected dimensions in reactions during its development, so if it is ever to be a serious exercise, those involved must recognize that a major element of its agenda is the effort to establish a platform seen as thematically balanced by forces external to the planet.  This reduces to the need for a virtual organization with its seat in a place the majority sees as consistent  with this specification.

Vertical Extension

This site places considerable emphasis on the potential of a core organization with virtual extensions as an umbrella.  Those with Amazon shopping experiences can share stories of purchasing items clearly packaged on a kitchen table.  This notwithstanding, the item arrived undamaged and to specification.  A living breathing example of a successful umbrella organization.  The Triad argues that this has not gone unnoticed by minds on the other side of the mirror of the proposed Web 4.0 and IPv7 and offers this impression to be included in Phase IV as support.

• An engineer working in support of Iran was found dead of gunshot wounds in his Greenwich home.  Simultaneously, the same person was announced to have taken another project in a sensitive area.  Concurrent with this, an angel sighting was reported along with one of an old man strolling along practicing shooting arrows through an apple placed on a boy’s head. Even a cursory search of contemporary retailing practice should yield a number of organizational templates useful for a very abstract adaptation.

Priorities

Today’s environment makes any attempt to organize and prioritize proactive opportunities and to isolate and schedule remedial programs incredibly difficult, but if this issue is not addressed, the concept is not credible.  Triad entry into a crowded field must maximize its particular added value.  Core to this is the presumption that it can construct a unique path from the very ancient to the leading edge of technology, absorbing multiple disciplines into its virtual organization.  It may be prudent not to take the projects having the most immediate pain or highest visibility as first priority (there are a number of organizations very well equipped for this) but rather to find and focus on skill voids.  General McChrystal has a good number of column inches devoted to his problem – which seems to fit a solid historical diagnosis – so if the Triad is to be of value, it should probe engaging in this area.  The G20 summit on the subprime credit crisis and COP15 seem to have generated more heat than light.  If this trend is not fairly clearly reversed, it will  be difficult to explain to succeeding generations why the independent Web 4.0/IPv7 concept  and the next generation Collaboratorium applied to sequenced templates flexible enough to accommodate structural uncertainty were ignored.
